Guide: Save Microsoft Edge Bookmarks and Import to a New Browser
Part 1 – Export Bookmarks from Microsoft Edge
Open Microsoft Edge
Launch Edge on your computer.
Go to Favorites Settings
Click the three-dot menu (⋯) in the top-right corner.
Select Favorites → click the three-dot menu in the Favorites menu → choose Export favorites.
Save the Export File
Choose a location (e.g., Desktop or Downloads).
The file will be saved as an HTML file (e.g.,
favorites.html).
Part 2 – Import Bookmarks to a New Browser
A. Google Chrome
Open Google Chrome.
Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner → Bookmarks → Import Bookmarks and Settings.
From the dropdown, choose Bookmarks HTML File.
Click Choose File, select your exported Edge
favorites.html, and click Open.
B. Mozilla Firefox
Open Firefox.
Press Ctrl+Shift+B (or click the Library icon → Bookmarks → Manage bookmarks).
Click Import and Backup → Import Bookmarks from HTML.
Select your exported Edge
favorites.htmland click Open.
C. Microsoft Edge (New Installation or Different PC)
Open Edge on the target device.
Click the three-dot menu (⋯) → Favorites → Import favorites.
Choose Favorites or bookmarks HTML file.
Click Choose File, select the
favorites.htmlfile, and click Open.
Tips
If you use a Microsoft account with Edge and sync is turned on, you may not need to export/import—your favorites will appear automatically on other devices when you sign in.
Always keep a backup of your
favorites.htmlfile in case you need to re-import later.
